UPDATE FROM LIVERPOOL BA: GREATER MANCHESTER BUSINESS FAIR (19TH OCTOBER) POSTPONED
The Coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak has turned this in to a year like no other with devastating effects on families, communities and businesses.
Even though many of the lockdown measures have been eased, the business events sector is only now on the point of resuming, with conferences and exhibitions being allowed to restart from October 1st. This was announced by the Prime Minister on 17th July with the caveat that resuming exhibitions and conferences will be subject to rates of infection remaining at current (July) levels.
We had hoped that this would allow us to hold the Greater Manchester Business Fair (which was originally going to be held on Wednesday 15 July 2020) on Monday 19 October 2020 at AJ Bell Stadium.
However having discussed the situation with the venue, we think the wisest and safest course of action would be to delay holding the event until next year.
We are looking at future dates and aim to get a new date confirmed and out there as soon as possible. All exhibitor and visitor bookings already placed for Manchester Business Fair will of course be carried forward to the rescheduled event.
This is obviously disappointing and is not a decision we’ve taken lightly. The last thing we wanted to do was to postpone the Manchester event for a second time and we are very much looking forward to holding events as soon as we possibly can.
However with coronavirus cases on the rise again, and parts of Greater Manchester still subject to more stringent restrictions, we basically feel there are just too many areas of uncertainty surrounding the situation. And that 19th October is just a bit too soon to hold the event, especially in the Greater Manchester area.
Thank you for your understanding.
