12.05pm-12.25pm: The New Employment Rights Bill – a summary of the key take aways for employers
In this workshop, Matthew will provide a quick summary of the key sections of the new Employment Rights Bill and what to be aware of, including:
– Changes to the unfair dismissal regime;
– Change to the duty to prevent harassment;
– Extension of Family Friendly Rights.
Matthew will also talk about the importance of getting things in writing.
At the end of the session, Kate Bullen, Head of Commercial Property at AFG LAW will provide a brief insight into Commercial Property in 2025.
About Matthew Taylor
Matthew is a Solicitor in the AFG LAW Dispute Resolution department. He first began working for AFG as a paralegal in the Family Department in 2013, before starting his training contract in March 2015. Having qualified in October 2016 after seven years of training, he chose to practise in Dispute Resolution.
As well as running his own caseload, Matthew continues to assist his team with a number of complex cases, in addition to developing AFG LAW’s employment law and landlord-tenant services portfolio.
Matthew currently serves as a mentor to students at the University of Law in Manchester, helping to guide those just starting out in their legal careers.
